Meetings are the first Sunday of every month @ 6pm HAZLETON ARCHERY CLUB NEWS March 2009 www.hazletonarcheryclub.com UPCOMING EVENTS The Indoor Range will be closed for scheduled shooting starting in April and will remain closed for the summer months. If you are a member you may access the club at any time with your key card. Since the weather is improving we hope to see you at our first 3D shoot on April 26th. This will be our first scheduled North East 3D archery shoot of 2009. We will also host the Pa Regional on May 17. We will have some new 3D targets this year. Don’t forget we are the only 24/7, open to the public 3D Course in the region. The practice range is open only to club members or anyone from the public who has signed up to shoot the 3D course. If someone is on the course or practice range and has not signed up they will be asked to pay. The charge is $7.00 for members and $9.00 for non-members. Indoor winter league results will soon be posted inside the club. Thanks to all who participated and supported the club. A special thanks to Tom Scalise for his work on the stats and to our members who opened the club for the leagues. Do you still want to shoot a little indoors? A few members would like to try and shoot a dart league for a few weeks starting around 7:00 pm on Wednesday nights. Considering two person teams selected randomly each week, maybe each game, for a couple of dollars per game. We have archery dart targets and figure we would explore something different. Stop in and see what we can develop this into. Cheap buy in and a lot of fun anticipated. We will hold a spaghetti dinner at 1pm after our 3D Shoot on May 17th. This will be a fundraiser for the club and the cost will be $5.00 per person. Hope to see you all there and bring your friends. For more information please call Ski at 450-0988 or Cy at 929-3311. Please RSVP by May 11th. ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION! (online readers call for tickets) Included in this letter you will notice five 50-50 tickets for each adult member of the club. These tickets will be sold for $2.00 each and the drawing will be held on May 17th at 1pm at the 3D Shoot. We would like everyone to make an effort to sell all of his or her tickets. With the economy the way it is right now and the fact that our property assessment has tripled we must generate more revenue if we want to keep our club open. If we raise the dues to cover this increase we will lose club members so we really would like to try to sell these tickets and host the dinner instead. If you want more tickets please come up to the club or call Cy at 929-3311 or Bob Ski at 450-0988 or any Club Director will be happy to help you. Any member wishing to help with the 3D Course or cleaning up around the club to get your work hours in, please call any Club Director. 3D targets will need to be set up by our first shoot on April 26th and we could use your support. Thank you. |
